We got to perform for the Lenasia Trade Route Mall’s Heritage Day Bridal Fashion Show. (There’s a mouthful!)
The gowns were absolutely exquisite! Some were traditional, intricately beaded sari’s in an amazing blend of colours, adorable flower girl outfits and fashionable bridesmaid dresses. Some were western style with gorgeous corsets, crystal designs and hairdo’s. Eduan and I only did a small wedding and we’ve talked about wanting to do another one with friends and family at some point and I still have half a mind to wear an Indian style dress, I just love them.
I was so clever, I brought my camera, I remembered to put in a memory card, but forgot to check the battery so I didn’t get any good pictures. Eduan did take some pics with his phone so you can see a little of the impressive set up, I’ll wait for the official media article and post the link to hopefully show you some of the outfits soon.
We performed a Belly dancing and Bollywood show back to back. It’s always challenging to work costume changes into a show seamlessly but the girls were true pros and everyone seemed to love it.
I think catwalk stages are perfect for belly dancing as you can use the full space, have a lot of room to move around but be quite close to your audience at the same time. Do watch out for wearing slits or very full skirted spins with the audience at your feet, this is more a stage for graceful, controlled movements. 😉
Pritha from Shaadionline choreographed a beautiful (and shockingly punctual!) fashion show. We loved being a part of it!
