ATS Beginner Workshops

1) Mesmerizing Basics 2hr, 45min (First step to learning ATS Slow Moves)
Date: Sunday 12 June 2011
Time: 10:30am – 1:15pm
Price: R200p.p (R150 for Tribal Angel’s students)
Please make sure that you arrive at least 15 minutes before the workshops start
Work those muscles! This workshop is designed for beginner ATS dancers as well as Fusion dancers who want to brush up on technique or add traditional tribal dance movements to their dance repertoire. We will be drilling slow ATS moves, which will increase your muscle memory and control, helping you to create smooth and fluid movements. The steps taught in this workshop create a foundation for the beginner ATS dancer. Many of the advanced movements later learned in ATS are variations created from the basic steps taught in this workshop.

Posture
Hand floreo’s
Taxeem
Body Wave,
ATS arm undulations with layering
Torso Twist
Circle Step
Introduction to formations
Lunch 1:15pm – 2:00pm
Please pack a light lunch. Although we are close to Cresta there may not be enough time for you to go out and buy lunch. Please make sure it is a light lunch as we will be doing Shimmies in the next workshop.
2) Fast & funky Basics. 2hr, 45min (First step to learning ATS Fast Moves)
Please make sure that you arrive at least 15 minutes before the workshops start

Time 2:00pm – 4:45pm
Price: R200p.p (R150 for Tribal Angels students)
Be prepared to sweat! This workshop is designed for beginner ATS dancers as well as the well conditioned professional who wants to brush up on technique or add to their fusion repertoire by drilling to perfection with complete muscle memory & control. You will also learn how to improv with simple group formations. The steps taught in this workshop create a foundation for the beginner ATS dancer. Many of the advanced movements later learned in ATS are variations created from the basic steps taught in this workshop.
