Cape Town will host the 6th International Oriental Dance Festival in October.
The belly dancers attempting to break a Guinness World Record! The current record for “Most people belly dancing simultaneously” is 826 dancers and they aim to beat this record! That should put South African belly dancing on the world map.
The whole event is organized by Ajsa Samia together with the Oriental Dance Theatre Palace of the Winds and is a charity event in aid of Saartie Baartman Centre for (abused) Women and Children/Athlone.
The Festival starts on Thursday, 27th October 2011 with a Opening Gala Evening where you can enjoy performances by professional International and South African Oriental Dancers at the Baxter Theatre (Concert Hall, 8pm, Tickets: R150, Computicket)
On Friday, 28th October 2011 is a workshop day where you can learn from world – best oriental dance teachers and performers
